The Department of Overseas Labor Management (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) said that, according to data reported from businesses, the total number of workers working abroad in May 2023 is 9,765 workers. (3,576 female workers).
This number is approximately 0.58 times compared to the same period last year (May 2022: 16,740 workers, including 6,787 female workers), including markets: Japan 5,359 workers (2,397 female workers), Taiwan (China) 3,515 workers (989 female workers), Hungary 192 workers (108 female workers).
Japan continues to lead the markets receiving Vietnamese workers, with 28,513 workers (11,916 female workers), followed by Taiwan (China) with 26,201 workers (20,585 female workers), and South Korea. 1,210 workers (53 female workers), China 729 workers (2 female workers).
Mr. Nguyen Gia Liem, Deputy Director of the Department of Overseas Labor Management, said that long-standing traditional markets such as Japan, Taiwan (China), Korea… still appreciate Vietnamese workers for their Agile, hard-working, and skilled, so when accepting workers again after the Covid-19 epidemic, they still give certain priority to Vietnamese workers.
However, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs still aims to expand high-quality markets that require higher skills to gradually improve the quality of the labor source.
